What is the manufacturer/model of your guitar?

Fender Squier Mini Strat

Is the guitar electric or acoustic (or both)?

Electric guitar.

How much did you pay for the guitar? New or used?

$100 (US) New

Is the guitar easy and comfortable to play?

I used this guitar and it is actually pretty comfortable for any guitar player (I have been playing for five years). For small hands, this guitar is very easy to play, but for people with bigger hands, it might be quite hard.

Guitar tone.

It's a Stratocaster. What do you expect? All Stratocasters have that bluesy and thin sound, including this one. There is a five way pickup switch on the guitar. The first setting plays the first pickup, the second setting plays the first and middle pickups, the third setting plays the middle pickup, the fourth setting plays the middle and the third pickup and the fifth setting plays the third pickup. The first, third and fourth settings sound very dark, when the second and fifth settings sound very bluesy and thin. The three single coil pickups sound very decent and great for beginner guitarists.

Guitar build quality.

The craftsmanship of this guitar is decent. The materials are okay, but the tuners feel pretty cheap and also feel sloppy. Some of the strings buzz, which includes the low E string and the G string. The guitar gets out of tune sometimes too, but not too often. Other than that, it's a solid guitar and things breaking off is very rare. The quality of the hardware is also pretty decent. This guitar is pretty durable, only if you take good care of it.

Advice

  • I would recommend this guitar to beginner guitarists, but not for guitarists who have been playing for over a year. Great value for the money. Has everything you need to start playing the guitar. When you first buy the guitar, change the strings and also the tuners.
