What is the manufacturer/model of your guitar?
B.C. Rich Warlock, Bronze SeriesIs the guitar electric or acoustic (or both)?
ElectricHow much did you pay for the guitar? New or used?
Nothing. A friend gave me the Warlock and a demolished Les Paul Studio. Is the guitar easy and comfortable to play?
Had to adjust the action. Bridge is kinda bizarre.Guitar tone.
With the outfitted Gibson hardware, I ran her through my Vox AC4 and IT SOUNDS EFFIN' SWEET! It does however, redeem itself in that it actually boasts of a solid wood body, as opposed to the plywood one would figure a $200 guitar to sport.Guitar build quality.
The tuners hold the tuning just fine. I need to replace the pots (the Gibson pots wouldn't fit in the cavity with out additional woodwork. The bridge/ tail piece is funky. I would have personally engineered it with a Tune-o-Matic stop bar tail piece. The stock pickups appear to have been assembled by Chinese prison labor. I have never been a fan of black instruments. I find no inspiration in them. Add the Satanic body shape and a juvenile might be prompted to learn some Slayer with it..Advice
If it weren't for creating the worlds first (as far as I can figure) B.C. Rich/ Les Paul hybrid (we call it the Less Rich) I would likely have passed this on to some kid, or burnout crackhead. If it retails for $200, then I dropped more than that into it today with the Gibson pickups, and the time and labor to rewire it. I'll. even kick my Less Rich hybrid up a notch and tell you that we modified the Les Paul pickguard, and added it to this creation as well. When I tire of it, or enough people remind me to act my age, I will probably remove the Gibson hardware and give it a home in a more deserving Fernandes. Then, who knows? I've been playing cheapo guitars my whole life, so I will pass it on to someone one day to bring a smile to their face. Thing is, cheapo to me is a Dan Electro, or Silvertone. And I love those brands. Not to mention, foriegn made guitars, Chinese, and particularly Korea have manufactured exceptional quality in recent years. This would not have been my first choice in a $200 investment, but again, it will do for me play along and worship Satan with King Diamond!Dan Cross, Guitar Guide, says:
additional notes from this review: "Had to adjust the action. Bridge is kinda bizarre. I just finished gutting the Les Paul Studio, and replaced the Warlock cheapo humbuckers with the 490T and 490R, replaced the three way toggle with the one from Gibson, and replaced the chrome knobs with the speed knobs from the Les Paul. My buddy rewired it for me this evening, using the schematic from the B.C. Rich page." "I have never been a big fan of dramatic body shapes, and no time in my 40 years have I ever considered buying a Rich. However, I am revisiting some old King Diamond/ Mercyful Fate material for old times sake, and my Fender Tele, Fernandes Nomad, or Silvertone aren't exactly choice weapons. This will do fine for making me look evil."
