Amp Manufacturers A to Z

A series of links to amp manufacturers web sites, many of which offer details about their models of amps, printable owner's manuals, and more.

Ampeg

Although known primarily as a bass amp manufacturer, Ampeg also offers guitar amps many other products. Their website offers a U.S. price list, downloadable manuals, product info, and much more.

Carvin

Guitars are what they are known for, but Carvin also make many models of guitar amplifiers. Lots of info on each guitar amp, with specific pricing information, and the option to buy online.

Crate

Lots of great information on this well-designed page. To access guitar amplifier manuals, click support, and use the drop-down menu.

Danelectro

They don't make a lot of guitar amplifiers, but Danelectro do offer several low cost guitar and bass amps. Not a whole lot of documentation provided on each.

Epiphone

Although guitar amps aren't their specialty, Epiphone does offer quite a few models for sale. Someone ought to tip off their website developers about etiquette though - the site is intrusive and horrible.

Fender

The rather small amount of info presented on each Fender amplifier here is a bit disappointing. Those looking for Fender manuals should check out the Mr. Gearhead site.

Gibson

This site from Gibson.com features various amps from Goldtone series. Quite a bit of basic information is provided, although no prices are listed.

Gorilla / Pignose

If you're looking for a seriously small amp, these low-cost munchkin amplifiers might be for you.

Hughes & Kettner

Lots of good looking amps on this site. Unfortunately, the content seems to be a little thin. You can download manuals for many of their popular products.

Johnson

Interesting line of amplifiers, which makes great use of factory presets to allow for quick access to many settings. Downloadable owner's manuals are available.

Marshall

The website for this hugely popular amplifier company is a bit graphics intensive, so it can be clumsy to navigate. You'll find good info here on Marshall products, however (no prices listed though).

Mesa/Boogie

A nice site that offers full specs, owners manuals, etc., for all Mesa/Boogie products. A neat feature is the Buyers Guide, which allows you to compare models of Mesa/Boogie amps.

Orange

The UK-based company has been releasing these highly regarded orange colored amplifiers since 1968. This official site offers all the usual info, history, dealer listings, etc. No prices are given.

Peavey

Information here about some of the more recent Peavey amplifiers. Those looking for info on older models of Peavey amps can check the user forum on the site.

Roland

Roland have given the world the Jazz Chorus series, and some other well received amplifiers. The website is horribly organized, and it might take you some searching to find the info you're looking for. Scroll down to find guitar amps.

Sewell Amps

This amp manufacturer produces high calibre, high end amplifiers, with an emphasis on simplicity. Don't expect reverb, an effects loop, or any other toys on Sewell amps.

Soldano

Site features detailed info on Soldano amps and products, reviews from various magazines, U.S. dealer listings, and more.

ValveTech

You can custom order these tube amps over the net, and have them delivered to your door. Site includes testimonials, amp specs, price listings, and more.

Vox

Very good website, that provides a lot of info about the highly touted Vox amps. Queen's Brian May is one of the biggest supporters of these amplifiers. Circuit diagrams and more are available for download.

Yamaha

Yup... this company also makes amplifiers. The website provides specifics on various models of amps, includes downloadable owner's manuals, and more.
