4 single coil DiPinto pickups, four Red Rocker switches control them, one master tone and one master volume control. Body is poplar wood, maple neck with flat rosewood fingerboard. Finish is metalflake silver with glassy clear coat and yellow moto pickguard and headstock.

Can't really compare this to a Stratocaster or other single-pickup solid body electric. Has a tone - or I should say has many tones - that are all its own. Extremely VERSATILE guitar.

Beautifully engineered with a lot of thought going into electronics, and headstock angle so you can use the tremolo (whammy bar) and not go out of tune; finish is flawless. I love the fretboard which is wide, flat and not too "clubby" in your hand. Only improvement area I might suggest is if the frets could be polished from the factory to pre break them in before shipping. Otherwise as good as the best Fender and Gibsons I have owned, and own. Beyond the superb quality of this instrument, it is visually stunning like nothing else out there.

Simply put, one of the best values out there for this kind of money, a stunningly outrageous instrument that is simple, visually unique and presents itself kinda like a fun-to-have 1950's space age toy but plays as good as the best Pro gear out there. I feel DiPinto instruments should have the big name guitar-making corporate guys getting nervous, and soon because there is no reason to buy anything BUT DiPinto once you have played one and worked with it to get the tones you want.

No cons about the guitar at all. Just the place I bought it from which was a store in Philadelphia PA area. Great sales staff there, phenomenal in fact.... but poor after sale customer service who provided slow shipping and conflicting info on where the guitar was and when it might be arriving, after the order.
