Over on the Rolling Stone magazine web site, legendary rock writer David Fricke and team put together their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time (see article here). It is an alternately exhilarating/inspiring/puzzling/maddening list of guitarists that deserves further exploration for those interested in learning about each guitarist's playing style.

As a result, here are the top ten guitarists from that list, presented in reverse chronological order. For each, you'll find additional resources selected to help you learn more about the playing style of that guitarist.
