Price Paid: $200 USD
Description: Acoustic. Built about ten years ago. Rosewood fingerboard. Plywood construction throughout. Neck is very solid feeling in the hand.
Tone:
Comments: Quite Bright sound. Sounds better once strings are worn a bit and the tone is dulled. Pretty thick, resonate sound for a cheap guitar. Plays well with others, and can be heard at a very good distance.
Quality:
Comments: For the price it has been an amazing value. It has traveled the country with me for years. Its looks battered and the frets are getting pretty worn, but there is no warpage or any problems at all. Holds a tune very well. The original tuners are cheepies.
Overall:
Pros: Great first guitar. If you find one used, get it. Just remember it only cost about $200 new! Excellent value for the money. Later you will want something with a bit richer tone, and maybe a bit mellower highs.
Cons: New strings sound tinny and cheap. Once the strings get a little dirty they sound a lot better. Not a soild top, so the sound never gets any better.
