Incredibly even sound throughout the range. Beautiful, throaty bass that doesn't overwhelm the highs. This sounds like a HUGE guitar.

Comments:
The craftsmanship is flawless, inside and out.
Overall:
Pros:
One of the nicest production acoustics I have ever laid hands on, for sound, feel and asthetics. A truly fine instrument at a price that is not unreasonable for what you are getting.

I love the tone of the 314ce. Each note from each string is articulated. The basses are full but not boomy, the mids are punchy and the trebles are clear and bell-like with rich overtones.

Comments:
There are no detectable flaws in the wood or the finish. The workmanship is superb. This seems to be a durable, well built instrument. The setup was very good, it is one the easiest acoustic guitars I've ever played. The neck width and the materials make this a fingerstylists delight.
Overall:
Pros:
This guitar was worth every penny I paid for it. Although the 314ce is a member of Taylor's least costly (Babys excepted) guitars, they didn't scrimp in quality or craftsmanship. Although not graced with abalone and mother of pear,l this instrument is a study in the beauty of classic simplicity where less is indeed more.Taylor's customer service so far seems very good. I've only called upon them to send me a catalogue and their video explaining the new neck design and e-mailed a question to them. Their responses thus far have been quick and polite.
Cons:
I'm sure Taylor has their reasons, but I'd wish they'd allow the retailers to advertise their prices.
