Price Paid: $450 USD
Description: Made in Canada. Spruce top, compensated bridge. It's the one that doesn't have the cutout and doesn't have electronics.
Tone:
Comments: Very nice full accoustic sound. I've had it for 2 years and it's really developed a smooth tone. I think the spruce is suppose to give it a brighter sound - could be. I do home studio stuff only. I mic with an AKG C3000B. Nice harmonics. I play straight leads, jazz chords, county pick'n, folk strumming and bit'o metal chord slamm'n on this and it all sounds good. I change strings about once every three months - should probably be every 1 to 2 though to maximize the sound. I use .011 or so.
Quality:
Comments: Excellent finish - shines up right nice! The sound hole is nicely camferred (i think that's the word). Action good on the entire neck - no buzz. Good tunability - stays in tune! In fact, it's pretty much in tune in all positions (D - 10th position just starts to loose it though). Tuners extemely high quality. I've banged this thing several time on very hard objects - but I have yet to see where I actually hit it! So the finish appears to be quite durable.
Overall:
Pros: I'd put this thing up against any acoustic guitar at any price. The sound and playability are incredible. I play this every night to put my kids to bed. They seem to like too.
Cons: none
