Description of
Seagull Artist Series Mahogany Spruce
:
Made in Canada. This cutaway model dread is one of Seagull's top-of-the-line models with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back. The neck is mahogany with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

Comments:
In typical Seagull fashion, this guitar features a narrower upper bout and is a little more shallow than a typical dreadnought guitar. This combined with the cutaway shape gives the guitar a deep tone without being too boomy. The spruce/mahogany combination makes for a warm, rich tone. The sound is absolutely beautiful.

This is one gorgeous guitar! I haven't been able to find a single flaw in the finish -- not even any glue runs on the inside. The craftsmanship of the luthiers in Canada is outstanding.
Overall Opinions of
Seagull Artist Series Mahogany Spruce

Pros:
Seagull guitars are generally known as some of the best guitars for the money. My experience with this guitar bears that out. I played a lot of guitars before picking this one up just for kicks. The only one that sounded better to me was a Taylor 812ce. The Seagull isn't quite as good as the Taylor in tone or finish, but it weighs in a less than half the price of the Taylor, and it feels every bit as nice.
Cons:
I only wish I were a better player to do this guitar justice.
