Schecter C-1+
[Submit a Review]

Price Paid: $500 USD
Description: Electric. Made in Korea. Solid Mahogony w/ Flamed Maple Top, Set-In neck (not bolt-on), body and neck binding, 24 jumbo frets, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, Duncan Design dual humbuckers, Grover tuners, Tune-O-Matic Bridge.
Tone:
Comments: I was able to achieve a very full, rich sound through my Marshall MG50RCD on both clean and driven channels. It's tonal quality makes it very versatile; I got a great crunch while playing Limp Bizkit and was able to mellow it out enough to achieve a smooth, soaring lead ala Eric Johnson's Cliff's of Dover.
Quality:
Comments: No flaws are evident in the craftsmanship or materials. As with many of Schecter's other guitars, power chords and fingerings are somewhat awkward higher up on the 5th and 6th strings. It came out of the box after overnight shipment to me in Europe in tune and ready to play.
Overall:
Pros: I've always been a die-hard American Strat fan, no exceptions. Until now. This is by far the overall best guitar I've played in a long time, and definitely the best non-US made guitar I've ever gotten my hands on. If you need a great, low-cost, multi-purpose guitar, grab one of these now!
Cons: As for music intended to be played or written on a Strat, I'd stick with the original Fender. Other than that...

Price Paid for : $600.00 USD
Description of : All mahogony! Duncan Design Pick Ups, Tom Bridge, Vintage sun burst finish, chrome grover tuners, ghs 10-46 strings, 3 way push pull switch, and rosewood fingerboard.

Comments about : I purchased this guitar for 600 dollars at a guitar center a little less than a year ago. Wow. I was looking for a guitar with humbukers and more of a Gibson style without the $1200 price tag. I plugged into a Marshal 2x12 tube to take a listen to a few guitars I had narrowed it down to. I played an Epiphone, a Gretsch, and a Faded Gibson, before I found the Schecter C-1 plus. This thing has range! From the growl and bite of the bridge pickup to the soft jazz like quality in the neck, there are a lot of different sounds you can get.
Quality of :
Comments about : The construction is solid. You don't get that mass produced feeling like when you hold a strat. This guitar was really hand crafted. Grover tuners keep the guitar in tune so much that it's kind of scary. I bend a lot of notes, and I tune maybe once in a month or even longer. The wood is flaw free and the finish a beauty. I give it a 9 for only two reasons. 1. Is that the plastic binding on my humbucker pickups cracked. I don't know how as I'm the only one who touches the guitar. But when I noticed this I sent an email to the company and they sent me the part the next day. When they mean lifetime warranty, they mean it. 2. Is that they didn't use real mother of pearl or abalone to do the ""Vector inlays"" I can't tell the difference but it just would be nice if it was one of the two rather than a fancy copy.
Overall Opinions of :
Pros: This guitar is very well made and for a retail price of $750 , you really can't go wrong. As far as quality, it feels beter than some of the low end gibsons and the jumbo frets are a godsend to tired hands.
Cons: It would be nice if the inlays were abalone or mother of pearl, but that's nit picking. The guitar is one of the best I've ever played!
