Price Paid for Simon and Patrick Parlour : $350 CDN (approx. $230 USD)
Description of Simon and Patrick Parlour : Made in Canada. This is a Grand concert instrument commonly called a Parlour guitar because of it's small size.Comaprable models are from Larivee,Seagul[same company],Taylor,Martin.Compared to the the others which I played and compared The S&P was easily the best construction.Careful attention to detail, and bindings front and back. The spruce top is a very nice piece of tone wood.picked.Action is low, buzz free.Mahogany laminated over wild cherry back and sides.12 frets to neck.
Tone of Simon and Patrick Parlour :
Comments: Like I said previously I compared this little guitar with some very good guitars and It came up on top regardless of price difference. The Larivee sounded a little sweeter at over double the price. It's construction lagged the S&p with no bindings.Taylor was pathetic construction.
Quality of Simon and Patrick Parlour :
Comments about Simon and Patrick Parlour : I play finger style so I would like the neck to be a little wider but it is still very playable.I have owned and played many hand made expensive guitar over the years and this little dude stands easily in their company.Sounds like a 000 Martin with some breaking in.
Overall Opinions of Simon and Patrick Parlour :
Pros: Great value.Check out their cutaway dreadnoughts as well.
Cons: Finish is very thin.Could nick easy.Very plain appearance.
