[Submit a Review]

Price Paid: $1525 USD
Description: 2 - P-90 type Seymour Duncan designed Custom Soapbar pickups. Stoptail. Vintage tuners. One piece all-mahogany body. Mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard.
Tone:
Comments: The best sounding P-90 equipped guitar that I've ever played. Sweet-sounding, with a very chimey character that can grind with the best of them when played aggressively. Absolutely magical in its tonal quality.
Quality:
Comments: Perfect workmanship. Best that I've ever owned.
Overall:
Pros: The McCarty Soapbar Standard does not have the expensive maple top normally associated with PRS guitars. The mahogany wood has its own understated beauty. The guitar plays and sounds like a dream. Absolutely one of the best values in the PRS line!
Cons: As with any single-coil pickups, the soapbars on this guitar can be noisy if the guitar is near any source of electromagnetic interference. But overall, this guitar is quieter than most single-coil guitars that I have played.
