Description:
1992 model.USA made set-neck solidbody designed after the Gibson Les Paul Special double cutaway from the late 50's,featuring a Honduras Mahogony body and a three piece Mahogony neck. Two Seymour Duncan Vintage P-90 single-coil pickups,Schaller mini-tuners,Tune-O-Matic bridge, two volume and one tone and Indian Rosewood fingerboard make up the specifics of this neat axe.I called Hamer to ask about the guitar, which is a dark metallic blue, because I'd never seen a Hamer in this color. The very helpful Hamer rep said that this color was a special factory $100.00 option ordered by a customer.Great customer service by Hamer.

Comments:
Beautiful and nasty describe this full, rich voiced guitar. It cleans up nicely for chord work and blues/funk.In high gain situations the P-90's can get down right rude, with killer sustain and a midrange grind that always brings a smile to my face. The Hamer P-90 Special sounds especially sweet through my Fender Prosonic combo or MesaBoogie MKIIC+.

Comments:
Flawless Hamer quality on this model,as on my two other USA Hamers.Superb playability and excellent finish with a nice slim taper neck.

Pros:
Great value in an American made set-neck solidbody guitar, especially if purchased used. One of my favorite guitars for playing blues and clasic rock.Great customer service [see above] and a great addition to my guitar/amp collection.Included are:a customized Fender American Standard Strat,a Swamp Ash Carvin Bolt-T w/Duncan p/ups,a USA Hamer Studio in '59 Burst,a USA Washburn WMS Maverick Studio,a USA Washburn WM200,a USA Fender Fat Tele w/Duncans,a USA Hamer 25th Anniverary Artist,a Martin DM w/Fishman p/up and a Warwick Streamer Standard bass.Other amps [in addition to the MKII Boogie and Prosonic] include a Crate VC30,a Tech21 Trademark 10,a killer ValveTech all tube 1-12"" combo and an early 60's 8 watt,1-8"" Supro combo.
Cons:
Only real negative is that on a dark stage,I have trouble seeing the side fret markers on the neck.
