Price Paid for Gibson Les Paul Custom: $1600 19 years old. New price about $4000 in Norway
Description of Gibson Les Paul Custom: Electric. Made in USA. 2 Gibson Humbuckers. Built in 1981. Body made of mahogny, with a maple top. Black, with ""Gold"" hardware
Tone of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Comments about Gibson Les Paul Custom: The sound of this guitar is incredibble. Thick and full sound with a lot of great sustain. Sounds good at just about any amp. For lead playing, it`s definitely my first choice, as it sounds incredibble melodic. Every tone is clear. Both at hi- and lo speed playing, you can here every tone clearly. Just one minus: The clean sound (when no fuzz/overdrive is used) is a little bit to round. espessially the E ang A string. But with just a touch of overdrive, it`s great for almost any kind of music. If you use the 20th-22th fret a lot on lead playing, it`s not the best, as the neck is a bit thick up there.
Quality of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Comments about Gibson Les Paul Custom: As written above, my guitar is 19 years old. Still it looks almost as new! The neck is made of such hard material, that it`s almost everlasting. Looks as if just slightly used. the paint on the body doesn`t have a thick layer of paint, so a scratch will show pretty easily, that`s why I rated this 9 and not 10. But for regular use, this is never a problem.
Overall Opinions of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Pros: I strongly recommend this guitar! I would`nt buy it new, at full price, simply because I can`t afford it, but buy a used copy, and you get the exactly same guitar. If you`re not planning to play with a 100% clean tone exctremely much, but a little of both, this is great.
Cons: All over it`s Worth every dollar, and I have never regreted that I bought it. It`s great for every music genre except County, as you probably would want a sharper sound.

Price Paid for Gibson Les Paul Custom: $1300 USD (used)
Description of Gibson Les Paul Custom: Ebony finish, made in 1989, mahogany body and neck, maple top, ebony fretboard.
Tone of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Comments about Gibson Les Paul Custom: This Les Paul's tone is big and rich, like a piano. The sound is closer rich and dark, with a lot of sustain and compression, sometimes a little too much for certain styles, but for hard rock, nothing is more apprpriate than this for me. I use Mesa/boogie and Marshall tube amps, occassionally with a Roland effects precessor and an Ibanez pedal. But thru a Marshall alone, it sounds awesome. Clean sounds are clear and round, perfect for jazzy tones.
Quality of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Comments about Gibson Les Paul Custom: Gibsons are generally pretty incosistent in terms of quality control(and this comes from personal experience), but this guitar been reliable for 6 years through and through. It seldom goes out of tune, and as long as you dont throw it around, you should be able to grow old with it.
Overall Opinions of Gibson Les Paul Custom:
Pros: -Awesome tone and looks -My experience with Gibson customer service has been actually pretty good, though i cant speak for everyone. -appreciates in value, if you wanted to sell it
Cons: -expensive -the heel and weight bothered my initially upon purchase, but have gotten used to it over the years
