Description of G&L Legacy:
1993 3 pickup Strat style guitar designed and built by the man who started it all; Leo Fender.
Swamp Ashe body, hardrock maple neck, SD Vintage flat p/u's, tremelo bridge, seperate treble and bass control's wired to all three p/u's.

Comments about G&L Legacy:
The wiring scheme allows you to seperately roll off treble or bass for all of the pickups, giving it inceadible versatility. The Seymour Duncan Vintage pickups capture the true tone of the early Strats. Single coil noise and relatively low output are the only drawbacks I've found.

Comments about G&L Legacy:
This is one of the G&L's strongest points. The quality of workmanship rivals most anything I've seen from the Fender Custom shop. The neck and fretwork were finished off nicely and the quality of the woods used is excellect. Setup was spot on and the hardware is first rate. The guitar feels great in your hands and sings acoustically, letting you know it can deliver awesome tone when plugged in.
Overall Opinions of G&L Legacy:
Pros:
The G&L Legacy is one of the best kept secrets of the Strat world. They can be had for a very reasonable price considering the quality that comes along. If you're low on cash find a used one. I have bought and sold lots of guitars in the last ten years, but I always seem to come back to the Legacy.
If you're thinking about a Strat, try a G&L first and let your ears and hands be your guide.
Cons:
I have no complaints with the guitar itself, but I found the stock bridge p/u to be a little thin sounding, so I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan 'Lil59' HB. Great match.

Description of G&L Legacy:
3 Alnico single coil pups
Ash body, great sunburst finish, maple neck with rosewood board, Shaller tuners, and G&L's patented ""Dual Fulcrum"" bridge that is a work of art.
This is the REAL Strat.

Comments about G&L Legacy:
Covers all the tones. The contols really work to shape the sound. Playing thru a Fender Deluxe '65 RI. Pups were a little noisy. Had them shielded and they are much better.

Sound, quality of workmanship, fit and beautiful finish.

The case is cheesy. Would recommend the ""upgrade"" if you travel with it.
