Description of Fender American Standard Telecaster:
Almost bought a '52 reissue.
This has taken me 25 years. I've never played a tele that I didn't love. The first was a used butterscotch in a little music store. It was classically "beat-up": black spots worn on the neck, big patches of worn-off varnish, dings and bangs and scratches and etc. And it played and sounded like a dream.
Any way, ever since then, everytime I've picked up a tele, it's blown me away.
But somehow I always had a problem with the look.
Then suddenly, last year, I just fell in love. Looked and looked for that "special" guitar.
Finally found one with that White Wash finish.
We're a very happy couple.

Comments about Fender American Standard Telecaster:
I looked this guitar over VERY carefully. It's perfect.
But the tele is a very basic guitar. Not much to mess up.
Overall Opinions of Fender American Standard Telecaster:
Pros:
It's a telecaster
Cons:
It's not a Les Paul.

Description of Fender American Standard Telecaster: standard with rose wood neck, sunburst finish.

Comments about Fender American Standard Telecaster: tends towards a bright sound and perhaps a bit thin. this may be due to me not having discovered my Peavey 110 combo's full character. also the action is about as low as it can go with a bit of rattle. i've learnt that raising the strings may have a dramatic affect on the tone and vol. (any comments on this please).
Quality of Fender American Standard Telecaster:
Comments about Fender American Standard Telecaster: built like a tank, mind you, it's quite a straight forward work horse. i would expect no less from Fender USA. i think the previous owner may have neglected it a bit, there are some cracks in the finish ont he back of the neck - maybe because the guitar was left in the sun.
Overall Opinions of Fender American Standard Telecaster:
Pros: always wanted a Telecaster - finally got one GREAT. overall the quality is superb, well solid. really is a simple axe, but i am not really a good enough player yet to exhaust it's capabilities.
Cons: definately not a jazz guitar sound, but i was'nt the most objective buyer - i just wanted a Tele. i'm a bit concerned about the cracks in the finish , i don't know if it will allow more moisture in and get worse(any comments please).
