Comments about ESP M-250:
Not the best tone for my tastes, however I always pull stock pickups out as soon as I can get it home.Seems to lack sustain and beef.It is grounded out and shielded well though,no buzzing or latin radio stations transmitted through the pick-ups.Volume roll-off is smooth and consistant.Pick-up selector is firm but effortless, and cleanly operates from one setting to another. In general, the tone might appeal to another player, but wasn't enough to keep me from pulling out the stockers and replacing them.

Comments about ESP M-250:
Overall quality(at the store) seemed good, until observations were brought to light later after purchase(lucky me).I like the ideas used in the floyd like but no floyd tremelo system, however was shocked at the fact that one of the saddles was a full 3/32"" higher than the rest, belonging to another setup or a casting bumble.Stays in tune though, although I am suspicious of the hardness of the plate and, more importantly the knife edge area that makes contact with the posts, time will tell. The guitar is clean, nice finish, inlays look well done,no nicks or scratches(at the store).Fret work is average, with a few odd and end frets that slightly rise and fall as you sight down the neck. The neck also suffers from a bit of a weakness,i was able to raise or lower the height of the strings from the fretboard by putting pressure on it,and not that much pressure I might add.In fact,i discovered the truss rod loose, along with almost every fastener on this guitar, which doesn't b!
Other me,but an annoying factor if you are in a hurry to use it(i.E. Going to a gig that same day-it happened),plus,a discouraging and lazy oversight, not beneficial to a moderate or average joe who takes a guitar home thinking it's at least put together tight. The finish is above average on the body and neck,no complaints there.
Overall Opinions of ESP M-250:
Pros:
Nice paint job,fit and finish on most of this guitar is above average(for the price).Better than average tuners, electronics, neck detail(inlays and binding),and routing(recessed tremelo and neck to body fit).
Cons:
I guess you get what you pay for, although I did pay about $250.00 a year ago for a cheap japanese jackson that I bought new as a backup, and now use it exclusivly because it simply plays and sounds great, even recorded two cd's with it.My point being, unless I got the runt of the litter,if jackson can sell me on a beginers guitar for half the price, esp should work a little harder on their quality control. This is not a piece of crap, but it does need work, and it sits in my living room until ""i"" figure out what to do with it.
