[Submit a Review]

Price Paid: $1150 USD
Description: Electric. Made in USA. 2 Humbucker Guitar with 2 coil split swithces. All maple 1 piece neck w/ neck-thru construction, maple body wings, and ebony fretboard. Equipped w/ Sperzel locking tuners and wilkinson VS-100 tremolo.
Tone:
Comments: Full and round humbucker sound and bright and stringy single coil sound. Very versatile guitar. When both pickups are in humbucker mode, it sounds almost like a Les Pual, but with more power. In split coil, sounds almost like a Tele. Many combinations of both. In neck pickup, single coil mode, it's great for that fat SRV tone. I usually play it through a Carvin MTS100212 (think Marshall Lead sound and Twin clean), a Tube Screamer, Alesis Nanoverb, and a BOSS Metal Zone. This guitar also sound great for high gain shred and due to the tuners and trem system, stays in tune very well.
Quality:
Comments: Great quality, finish is mirror smooth. Pickups are very versatile, if a bit overpowered ( I ordered the modern style pickups). Durability has been excelent. The initial setup is fine, though I prefer heavier strings than what it comes shipped with (10's, i preffer 12's). The trem system is a great alternative to a Floyd Rose, no locks! Stays in tune very well after repeated dive bombings.
Overall:
Pros: if you are ready to blow more than $1000 on a guitar, you should take a look at Carvin. I have a Fender American Standard Strat and a Gibson SG Standard and they have both been relegated to back up axe status by the Carvin. The neck on this guitar is built for speed and has 24 frets.
Cons: Very good for most styles of music, but might be too dense in the mids for some tastes, especially for traditional jazz.
