The basics of the Christmas carol Here Comes Santa Claus are rather easy. We'll add a wrinkle (optional) that may make the performance slightly more difficult.
You'll probably be familiar with all the chords to Here Comes Santa Claus. The only chord you may possibly not know is a G7 chord:

The strum for Here Comes Santa Claus is also rather straightforward. It's a simple "down, down up, down, down up" pattern that you'll repeat for the entire song:

If you feel confident that you can play the above strum without difficulty, take a moment to try something slightly more difficult: instead of the downstrums on beat one and three, play the bass note (the lowest note) of the chord you're holding. So, using a Cmajor chord as an example, you'd play the note C (the third fret of the fifth string) using a downstroke with your pick, then strum down up, then again play the note C, then strum down up to complete the one bar strumming pattern. Try using the same procedure to play other chords in Here Comes Santa Claus.
That's it! Give Here Comes Santa Claus a try - and have fun!
