The chords in Deck the Halls shouldn't be too difficult for most guitarists. Although there is a relatively quick Bminor, with a little practice, you'll be able to finger it quickly. The only chord other that may be unfamiliar is the E7 chord. Although there are many different ways to play this chord, for this song, the following voicing is suggested:

There are just a few tricky bits in the strumming part for Deck the Halls. Strum down, down up, down, down up (although some chords will only be held for a half a bar - so just down, down up).

The tough part comes during the "fa la la la la, la la la la" section of the song. Start with a half bar of Gmajor (down, down up) and finish the bar with Dmajor (down, down up). Next, strum Dmajor down once, then switch to Amajor, and strum down once (on the second last "la"), then back to Dmajor, and strum down twice. This will complete the strumming for this line.

Once you've conquered the strumming for this part of the song, the rest should be simple. Good luck!
