The trick to playing Blue Christmas will be the strumming pattern used. Use the following strumming pattern:
Most of the chords in Blue Christmas are held for two bars, so you'll play the above strumming pattern twice for each chord.
Note also the introduction for Blue Christmas: the guitar plays single notes, along with the melody. As the melody starts "I'll have a..." echo this with single notes on guitar, before playing the first E chord of the song.
Also note that Blue Christmas uses swung 8th notes, so if you're familiar with how to play this way, give it a try.
