YouTube: Lee Ritenour Warm-up Exercise

By May 25, 2009

Follow me on:

This is a nice, fairly simple warm-up exercise for guitarists looking to synchronize their picking and fretting hands. Using a metronome, Lee Ritenour walks through several warm-up techniques, and also provides some tips on learning the note names across the fretboard. See Lee Ritenour Video Guitar Lesson

These easy-to-understand excercises start with a metronome. Yes, even the biggies like Lee Ritenour use a practice metronome. Shouldn’t we? These note locating, fret and picking hands coordinating, finger-strength building (even the pinky)exercises are simple to remember but powerful. The challenge is speed building. Keep them up and you’ll have a good knowledge of the fretboard and how to “run” it.
