Tips on Playing for a Crowd

Friday December 19, 2008
There are times, especially during the holiday season, when guitarists not used to the spotlight are thrust into it, often to perform music they don't know well. This can be a terrifying experience, and we've all had to endure it at some level or another. By finding a few ways to prepare, however, you can minimize the stress of the situation.

Hi: Sirs’ / Madams’

You are living in an era of tremendous life changes! By sharing the knowledge and skills that each of us has with each other, we help raise the level of those skill(s). All of us have talents, and a certain amount of expertise. Each of you can touch a life and help others reach their goals, happiest, and desires. You can mold the guitarist and living individual, of today and for the future. Help by giving, sharing that knowledge, and skill. I want to thank each of you.

“Relax, and have fun. ” This is what I need to. I have fun, but I need to relax and let the music take shape.

As always, great tips Dan.

Hey Im only 17 but ive played quite i bit live
My advice is:
Dont play for them, get up there and ply for YOURSELF
when you start thinking about all these people watching you, thats when things get sketchy

I say ride the bastard when you get up on that stage. I failed guitar class because I couldn’t perform in front of the class. One day I got thrown out on stage to perform a piece with a band. With all my nervousness and shakes, I knew it was flight or fight time. I wanted to be Slash so I grabbed my guitar by the horns and started moving because I just wanted it out of my body. Next day, I was known for having incredible stage presence, go figure..
