I heard Eric Clapton played the solo on The Beatles song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Is this true?
It sure is. Eric, a friend of George's, stopped by during the White Album sessions and sat in on lead guitar for the Beatles classic.

well, yes, but it happened like this. Most of the Beatles had been uncooperative with George and his songs, so George invited his best friend, eric clapton to play b/c he knew they would have to clean up their act….they wouldn’t want someone like clapton to see how disintegrating the beatles were becoming……so clapton came in and there were no problems while he was there……..just like how when billy preston joined the beatles for a few sessions, it brought them closer together and enabled them to work more efficiently
Man, That was my favorite George Harrison guitar lick and now i find out it was Slow Hand! Bummer….I always thought he had out done himself. Now i know why.
Sure, Clapton lent a nice guitar part to that piece. But to Harrison’s credit, he’d lay down nice guitar parts on records by folks who wanted something different for a track (i.e. Ron Wood, Alvin Lee, Cream, Jack Bruce, Nicky Hopkins) as well. Plus the live versions (Bangladesh, Prince’s Trust ‘87) had Harrison and Clapton soloing together (eclipsing the studio version, in my mind)…so it’s all good.
