Levon Helm RIP

Monday April 23, 2012
On April 19, 2012, the world lost Levon Helm. Although those of you who knew Levon thought of him as a drummer/singer for the band, Levon was actually a fine mandolin player, and began his career as a guitarist in Turkey Scratch, Arkansas. Over the years, I've posted about, and prodded you all to make the trip to Woodstock, New York to see one of Levon Helm's Midnight Rambles - I hope some of you listened. Those concerts in his barn contained some of the most intimate, profound music I've seen, and I'm saddened to think I won't experience those in the same way again. Rest in peace my friend.
