Description of Epiphone Les Paul Standard: This beautiful Les Paul was built in 1999.There are 2 Humbuckers.Mine has the Honeyburst Finish, whick looks awesome(kinda reminds me of those Jimmy Page guitars). It has a mahogany body and neck and a rosewood finger board, with a maple top.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard: This guitar can do it all.Although the Stock pickups aren't that great, they still sound ok.It's great at high volume, and well just go play it yourself!I play trough a Marshall Combo, and Les Paul+Marshall...now that's rock n roll!!
Quality of Epiphone Les Paul Standard:
Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard: The setup was good.I noticed one little spot on the neck, but it's very small. It's built like a tank.Very strong an durable.
Overall Opinions of Epiphone Les Paul Standard:
Pros: Well, you got to decide. This Epi sounds the same as the Gibson(with some new pickups,of course). It almost looks the same.I think there's still something special about the Gibson Les Paul, but hey if ya don't have the money go fot this one!And by the way:it's so easy to play.

Price Paid for : $350 USD
Description of : Made in Korea. '96 limited edition purple burst. 2 chrome covered humbuckers, Tune-O-Matic style bridge, all that standard Les Paul type stuff.
Tone of :
Comments about : Can't get a lot of sounds out of it, but the ones that are there are good. Pickups tend to squeal at high volumes with the gain turned up.
Quality of :
Comments about : Really solidly made. Feels like it will last forever. Finish is nearly flawless, but a little sloppily applied. Can see where transparent color overlaps body binding, sloppy masking where fingerboard joins body. A little filler used around fingerboard inlays.
Overall Opinions of :
Pros: I've seen a lot of people give bad reviews of these guitars because they're not as good as a real Gibson. But that's the thing, they're NOT a Gibson, they're a less expensive copy for people who don't have and extra $2000+ lying around. And for the price, they're pretty good.
Cons: The plastic tuners look kinda cheesy. From what I understand, the rythem/treble switch tends to wear out pretty quickly. Mine was bad when I got it.

Price Paid for : 1000 DM
Description of : 2 humbuckets, built 2000, Looks almost exactly as the Gibson Les Paul, 2 volum, 2 tone.
Tone of :
Comments about : Very full sound. Especially if you have a cool amp like Marshall or Fender. The pickups and humbuckets that comes with (standard) with the guitar are good but with better humbuckets and pickups= better sound (this is recommended but not needed).
Quality of :
Comments about : Great quality. No problems with the neck or body. If you use a pick protection it shouldn't become any bigger damages. So far so good...
Overall Opinions of :
Pros: For the price this is a great guitar. It looks almost like a gibson les paul except for the "head". With new Humbuckets or/and Pickups it will sound great! trust me...

Price Paid for : $599 USD
Description of : flame top. Made in Korea. 2 pickups h/h, 2000 model, mahogany neck, mahogany/alder/maple body, standard les paul shape, standard gibson syle bridge, epiphone tuners.
Tone of :
Comments about : Very full sound. The bridge pickup sound is bright without too much high end, and the rythym is full and bassy without being muddy. With both switched on it gives a smooth, balanced tone, just the way it should. Played through a marshall combo it sounded very heavy metal, or bluesy, depending on how much distortion I dialed up..through my fender hot rod deville 212 it goes from clean and country to mean and dirty...
Quality of :
Comments about : The top is gorgeous...the flamed maple is really top notch and the translucent red finish put on over it brings out the grain even more. All of the hardware is flawless and just as one would hope for from a les paul. One flaw is that the pick-up selector switch is bad, but I guess that can be fixed...
Overall Opinions of :
Pros: Great value for the money. I've played Gibson Les Paul Customs and standards and this guitar really sounds the way it should. It's not quite as full or rich as a Gibson, but it comes as close as you could hope for in this price range.
Cons: The pick up selector switch was bad, and the tuners are a little less fine than I would like, but all in all those are little things for a guitar that sounds this good.

Price Paid for : $350 USD
Description of : Replaced pickups w/Gibson '57 Classics
Tone of :
Comments about : I have 22 guitars, including Gibson LP Standard, Gibson LP Jimmy Page, PRS, '66 Strat, and 2 of these. I usually play thru a Supro Thunderbolt, Fender Pro Junior or Marshall 30th Anniversary. One Epi LPS has a sweeter tone (full and darkish) than any of them, and the other has a wonderful raspy tone. The Gibson LPS does the hard rock tone better.
Quality of :
Comments about : They seem fine, binding started to come up by neck on one of them, easily fixed with glue. Gibson Cherryburst is nicer, but to be honest, this category is not real important to me.
Overall Opinions of :
Pros: As I said above, best tone of 22 guitars. Works well with light strings. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone except shredders.
Cons: Stock pickups a little 'harder' than I like. I have 2 LPSs and 1 LP Custom. All three are excellent but different sounding. '57 Classic p/us are great on one but sound lousy on the other, where I use Duncan Antiquities. Thinner flatter necks are a little easier to play, but this is a Paul. And of course, it's not a Gibson, and most players really want a Gibson, even if just to have it.
